Celebrate Landscape Architecture Month!
April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM). Established by ASLA, WLAM is a month-long international celebration of landscape architecture and designed public and private spaces. People and communities around the world have deep, long-standing personal connections to the spaces landscape architects create – they’re just not aware of it. During WLAM, ASLA and landscape architects around the world aim to demonstrate that connection by highlighting landscape architect-designed spaces.
This year’s theme is “Growing Together” and we want YOU to share the many ways landscape architects design places for people to grow together.
Here are a few ways you can participate:
Partnering with the Earth Day Network’s Great Global Cleanup Initiative
This year, ASLA is is partnering with the Earth Day Network on their Great Global Cleanup Initiative.
As part of this year’s World Landscape Architecture Month celebration in April, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is teaming up with EARTHDAY.ORG to sponsor The Great Global Cleanup 2021.
Throughout the month of April, ASLA members will join together to organize and execute local cleanup projects as part of The Great Global Cleanup’s third official year.

Growing the Future Together Student Member Contest
As landscape architecture students, you aren’t only the future of the profession – you will play a significant role in designing the future of the planet. As part of WLAM2021, ASLA is asking landscape architecture students to show all the new, innovative, creative ways in which they are working to design spaces and projects, especially those in underserved communities, that promote growing together.
Post your projects, with short community impact statements, on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with the hashtags #GrowingtheFuture & #WLAM2021. Each post will count as one entry.
At the end of the month, two lucky winners will win a trip to the ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture in Nashville, Tennessee this November.
