Catherine is an associate professor of landscape architecture at the Spitzer School of Architecture at the City College of New York, and a registered architect and landscape architect. Her distinctive teaching philosophy encourages her graduate students to push beyond a site’s limits to realize its full potential for landscape aesthetics, resilience, and social-ecological capacity in the urban realm, as well as to grapple with the most difficult and pressing environmental issues of our time. Catherine has authored “Depositions: Roberto Burle Marx and Public Landscapes under Dictatorship”, “Structures of Coastal Resilience” Co-authored with Guy Nordenson and Julia Chapman, “Waterproofing New York” Co-edited with Denise Hoffman Brandt, and “On the Water: Palisade Bay” Co-authored with Guy Nordenson and Adam Yarinsky.
