2016 TIGER Grant Application Webinar

The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced $500 million will be made available for transportation projects across the country under and eighth round of Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) competitive grant program. Fiscal year 2016 TIGER discretionary grants will fund capital investments in surface transportation infrastructure and will be awarded on a competitive basis for projects that will have a significant impact on the nation, a metropolitan area, or a region.

Applications to the TIGER 2016 grant program should be submitted through Grants.govPlease note, all applicants are required to complete the registration process before submitting the Application, and that this process usually takes 2-4 weeks to complete. Learn More.

Historically, TIGER has been extremely popular with state Departments of Transportation, local communities, and landscape architects, with applications far exceeding available funding in all six rounds of funding. The program increases opportunities for landscape architects to plan and design more multimodal transportation networks that allow all users to safely and efficiently access our nation’s rights-of-way.

The U.S. Department of Transportation will be hosting a webinar detailing How to Compete for TIGER Discretionary Grants. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, March 8, from 1:30-3:30 PM EST and is a great resource for anyone either considering applying to TIGER this year or actually preparing a TIGER application, as the webinar comes from the funding source and will share the expertise of USDOT to prospective applicants.
