2017 Anova Grant for ASLA Emerging Professionals

$2,000 Grant Opportunity for Emerging Landscape Architects.

From 4/1/2017 through 4/30/2017, upcoming Landscape Architects can compete in ANOVA’s 2nd Annual Grant Competition for the opportunity to attend the 2017 ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) Meeting in Los Angeles. Twenty-one winners will each be awarded $2,000 to help cover attendance, as well as receive national recognition.

How to win? Answer this question: Global climate change is impacting local conditions everywhere – how should Landscape Architects respond? Share your idea and submit a sketch for your chance to win. See full entry information at:

The grant is designated to accelerate individuals’ careers in Landscape Architecture and was created and funded by ANOVA, a leading manufacturer of outdoor furniture. Eric Gilbert, CEO of ANOVA, believes that education and sharing ideas drives personal growth, and attending the ASLA Annual Meeting will provide an exceptional opportunity for engagement, learning and networking.

Here are some key highlights to be aware of:

  1. To be eligible for the competition, applicants must be a full or associate member of ASLA and have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Landscape Architecture after January 1, 2007.
  2. We are moving up the judging timeline this year. We will be accepting submissions from April 1st-30th, coinciding with Landscape Architecture month. The grant website will stop accepting submissions after 12am PST.
  3. Judging will occur during May, with winners being notified in early June.
  4. Once a winning applicant’s eligibility has been verified, they will receive the 1st half of the grant in June. The balance will be paid after CEU attendance has been verified after the meeting.

New in 2017: We are adding a new element to the competition. ANOVA will be awarding an event sponsorship to highlight the work of a specific chapter’s emerging professionals. The total number of applicants will be divided by membership totals to determine the chapter with the highest percentage of participation. ASLA-NY would love to win this event sponsorship so please spread the word and enter!
