PS&S: Landscape Designer (Entry-Level) – NYC

Position Summary

We are seeking a talented entry‐level Landscape Designer to join our fast-growing Landscape Architecture team in our New York City studio.

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplined environment on a variety of project types and scales. The candidate shall be a highly motivated, outgoing, and a resourceful team player to complement our team.

 

Responsibilities

    • Use AutoCAD/MicroStation software to complete basic drawings using input from landscape architects and engineers on their team.
    • Assist in the preparation of design plans with the support of the design team and supervisors.
    • Complete design of construction details with support of the design team.
    • Complete field visits for projects and obtain visual and photographic information, perform SWPPP inspections for active construction projects.
    • Perform tree inventories and surveys with Certified Arborists.
    • Acquire basic knowledge and develop basic skills through mentored experience.
    • Interact primarily with internal project team members.
    • Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines.
    • Commit to personal growth of your technical excellence by participating in professional development, training, and certification activities.
    • Collaborate with teammates, management, and clients to continue to foster an inclusive work

 

Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture.
    • 0-2 years of industry experience in landscape architecture field.
    • A high level of professionalism and excellent organizational skills.
    • Understanding of Design Development and Construction Document preparation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong ability in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office.
    • Strong digital visualization skills and freehand graphics.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bentley MicroStation/ OpenRoads
    • ProjectWise Explorer
    • Horticultural/ Arboriculture knowledge
    • ISA Certified Arborist credentials
    • GIS experience
    • Revit
    • Rhino
