Project Coordinator for a Garden Re-Design

Open Architecture New York is looking for a Project Coordinator to lead a garden redesign project for the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, a non-profit organization focused on preserving, supporting and promoting the recreational, ecological and historical value of Van Cortlandt Park.
The project will focus on redesigning their garden space and making it more suitable for educational and stewardship programs for children, such as by creating an outdoor classroom. The project will consist of two phases 1) Creating renderings and promotional material for fundraising efforts; and 2) Develop design development level drawings, material list, and budget.
The Project Coordinator is a volunteer position that will work closely with the OACNY board and Van Cortlandt Park Alliance representative. The project will start in January 2021, for a total duration of 4 months.
Work with the Director of Projects and Van Cortlandt Park Alliance representative on providing project specific goals and updates
Organize meetings with the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance team
Develop drawing set, accompanying instructions, preliminary budget, and list of material
Manage a small team of volunteers
Ensure that the project meets the mission and standards of OACNY throughout the duration of the project
Experience in site analysis and open space layout, especially related to landscape design
Familiarity with NYC Parks standard
Experience in visioning process and conceptual design
Knowledge of construction and site design. Experience in leading and managing construction documentation is a plus.
Project management experience and abilities to lead and manage a team
Skills in Adobe Suite, drafting, modeling and rendering programs (AutoCAD, Sketchup, InDesign, etc)
