Nelson Pope Voorhis is seeking a full-time permanent position for our Long Island office (Melville NY) with a background in landscape architecture/landscape design and drafting skills utilizing AutoCAD and the Adobe suite.  NPV is an environmental planning company, with this position’s focus is on sustainable landscape design, sustainable management, restoration, mitigation, and invasive management.  Work assignments will involve sustainable landscape design, green infrastructure/stormwater management planning, watershed assessments, adaptive management, ecological assessment, field identification and invasive species survey.  This position will work alongside the entire staff of Nelson + Pope/NPV engineers, surveyors, architects, planners, and permitting specialists.

Requirements:

• • Minimum BS/BA in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, horticulture, landscape design or related field. Preferred MLA.

• • Working knowledge of SketchUp and GIS, as well as plant identification skills are a plus. Work assignments will involve sustainable landscape design, green infrastructure/stormwater management planning, watershed assessments, adaptive management, ecological assessment, field identification and invasive species survey.

• • Experience with technical and report writing will be required.11
