MID-SENIOR LEVEL PROJECT MANAGERS – Coen+Partners

Mid-career and Senior Project Designers and Project Managers will be the lead on individual projects across multiple scales and project types. They will be rigorous, organized managers of the process, collaborative team members, and technically sound Landscape Architects. They will be the primary point of contact for clients and will lead the office’s systems development and quality control.
Preferred candidates will have the following attributes:
● 6+ years of design and project management experience in a progressive studio environment
● Experience with a comprehensive approach to project start-up -up including budget analysis, detailed work plans, and risk assessment
● Experience overseeing and driving the design process of multi-disciplinary teams on a range of project sizes
● Experience keeping a project on schedule, on budget, and vision
● Developed understanding and approach to contemporary and contextual based design
● Confidence in the organization, coordination, and management aspects of the entire design process
● Experience empowering and mentoring a team
● Proficiency with BIM documentation
● Desire and ability to travel internationally
● Minimally a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Planning, or Urban Design from an accredited program (Master’s degree preferred)
Responsibilities:
● Develop detailed work plans, schedules, risk assessments, and budgets for the management of a multi-disciplinary design team
● Manage a design team staff from concept through construction administration
● Work with design and technical directors and principals to develop the conceptual framework of a project
● Lead the technical development and documentation of complex projects
● Manage sub-consultants, clients, and internal teams in an empowering way that builds confidence and consensus throughout the design process
● Develop working relationships with other firms, clients, and government agencies through the course of a project
● Serve as a primary point of contact for a project
● Work directly with clients throughout a project, actively representing their interests as well as the interests of Coen+Partners and the project as a whole
● Mentor and empower design staff in the conceptual design effort, detailed design development, and quality control efforts during all phases of project work
● Use technology, systems development, and process design to improve quality and efficiency of project delivery
● Drive a project forward on vision, on-time, and on-budget
