Landscape Architectural Design Intern –     Brooklyn, New York

Local Office Landscape and Urban Design (LOCAL) seeks Landscape Architectural Design Interns to join our Brooklyn-based studio. We are a research-based design firm focused on building innovative, resilient, and environmentally just landscapes. Our hyper-collaborative and multidisciplinary team prides itself in developing contextual design solutions across all scales.

As a Design Intern, you will work closely with the studio design team to research, plan, and design compelling landscape architectural and urban design projects locally and regionally. In addition, as a Design Intern, you will work closely with our design leads in cultivating strong design sensibilities while building a rich background in construction methodologies. Experience and qualifications listed below.

Experience and Qualifications:

• • A student that is currently enrolled in an accredited landscape architectural and urban design program.
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe, AutoCAD, Rhino, V-ray, 3D modeling, Enscape and GIS.

• • Must demonstrate the ability to express complex ideas and solve problems graphically visually.

• • Must demonstrate knowledge in site planning and design.

• • Must demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills, strong organization and time management habits, and ability to work well independently and collaboratively.

• • Must have experience demonstrating their ability to work well within a design team and direction from project leads.

• • Responsibilities include preparing landscape architectural plans, physical and 3D models, 2D and 3D drawings, and using architectural computer software to illustrate a project design concept.

• • Other responsibilities include participating in design competitions and proposals and preparing written and graphic submissions to potential clients.
