Landscape Architect / Design Team Project Manager and Landscape Designers / Draftspersons

Studer Design Associates is an award winning, Connecticut based Landscape Architectural and Site Planning firm with a successful project history in creating thoughtfully inspired exterior spaces for high-end residential, municipal, and commercial clients throughout the Farfield County (CT), Wetschester County (NY), and greater New York City area since 1990 and is still growing. We have immediate openings for an experienced LA to act as design team project manager and various level draftspersons/design associates to enhance our production team.
GENERAL APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: For all positions, we are looking for skilled, enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who enjoy a collaborative working envirnoment. We have needs for those with a varied experience levels, but who are in general, skillfully well-rounded, possess a courteous disposition, solid written and verbal communication skills, and are dependable. Candidates must be able to work well with others both within the office envirnoment and out in the field with clients, contractors, and regulating agency officials. Applicants should already be fluent in the production of AutoCAD drawings. Requirements for being well versed in Sketchup, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office initially depend on the position applied for, but will ultimately be required for all. Candidates must also have the ability to legally drive to attend project meetings, conduct site analyis (take measurements and photos), as well as perform occasional delivery/pick up of plans, material samples, etc. All positions are in-office.
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT / DESIGN TEAM PROJECT MANAGER, should have at least 3 – 5 years of related work experience. In addition to the above listed general requirements, must also be able upon arrival to work effectively and accurately with every aspect of the design process, and efficiently be able to produce all design project work, including full set construction documents with details, sections, elevations, and color renderings. Full AutoCAD fluency is required. They must be able to ensure quality design team production and project profitablity, and be able to positively manage others. Full working knowledge of landscape construction and planting materials is also required. Landscape Archtectural Licensing in Connecticut and New York is preferred, but we will consider those with extensive experience and/or an extraordinary skillset.
LANDSCAPE DESIGNERS / DRAFTSPERSONS, must meet the above general requirements and should also be familiar with landscape design priciples and practices. AutoCAD construction document production is the primary focus of these positions, along with Sketchup and Photoshop renderings. The varied additional tasks also associated with these positions may include some non-project assistance, for example graphic communication tool production, site visits, printing, office and client correspondence, plant and construction material research, meeting coordination, preparing requests for and gathering proposals, coordination with surveyors and site engineers, etc. Knowledge of plant materials and hardscape construction is a plus.
