Junior Landscape Architect or Landscape Architect, NYSDOT Region 11

The New York City region of New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT Region 11) will be filling two junior landscape architect or landscape architect positions . As a Region 11 NYSDOT junior landscape architect or landscape architect, you would be involved in environmental review, design, and construction of public spaces involving or impacted by state-owned walkways, bikeways, highways, viaducts, and bridges within the five boroughs of New York City. Current projects include aesthetic improvements to a pedestrian bridge and to vehicular bridges, improvements to a bikeway/walkway, creation of new city parks, and aesthetic and environmental improvements to roadsides and medians. You would also be involved in environmental review of New York City projects that receive Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funding. Starting annual salary for Junior Landscape Architects is currently $53,941 including the $3026. “Downstate Adjustment”. Landscape Architects who have passed sections 1 and 2 of the Landscape Architecture Registration Exam and who have completed one year of full-time relevant employment may be hired as Landscape Architects. Starting annual salary for Landscape Architects is currently $69,566 including the $3026. “Downstate Adjustment”.
