Dirtworks-Landscape Architect

Dirtworks Landscape Architecture is seeking a Landscape Architect with 4-8 years experience. Our growing team is based in New York City, with a flexible work from home policy. Current projects include public parks, public housing, private residences, healthcare, higher education, ecological restoration, and more. Candidates should be interested in working on a wide range of projects with varying scopes and levels of oversight, at a fast pace with a positive and collaborative attitude. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage projects independently while also supporting others as part of a team, from proposal through design and construction phases.

- Perform site inventory and analysis, including site photography, accessibility, opportunities and constraints analysis, grading, drainage, and environmental analysis.

- Generate and manage the generation of creative design graphics, including site plans, sections, perspectives, and vignettes via hand and computer generated techniques.

- Lead design development for sites of varying sizes, including grading, planting, layout, materials and details.

- Create and manage the drafting of detailed construction submittal documents, including construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project manuals.

- Coordinate with and present to clients, design team professionals, and internal team.
SKILLS REQUIRED

- 4-8 years landscape architecture working experience

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite required

- Proficiency in LandFX, hand graphics, GIS, or 3D modeling would be useful

- Strong organizational, communication, project and time management skills

- Proven skills in presenting projects

- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

- Collaborative approach with the ability to implement feedback

- Knowledge of construction principles and experience with landscape construction, with some completed projects

- Basic knowledge of New York native plant materials and sustainable design practices
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Some local travel to project sites required

- Must be authorized to work in the US and live in New York state

EDUCATION REQUIRED

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture
- Landscape Architecture license required (in any state)

Salary:
$77,000-90,000 - commensurate with experience
