Session 1: Urban Adaptation & Infrastructure Toolkit
This session focuses on resilient infrastructure and the practical toolkit used to address climate adaptation across New York City. The Department of Environmental Protection will begin with an overview of the frameworks and tools deployed citywide to manage stormwater, cloudburst events, and long-term climate risk. Practitioners will then present case studies demonstrating how these strategies are implemented on the ground — from neighborhood-scale cloudburst interventions to Bluebelt systems and coastal resiliency projects — illustrating how policy, planning, and design intersect to build layered resilience.
