Join us for International Park(ing) Day when communities come together to activate streets for people.
When: Friday, September 20, 2024, 11-4
Where: E. 101 at Lexington Ave
What: Transforming parking spaces into temporary parks is a creative way to raise awareness about the importance of creating more sustainable and engaging urban environments. The event will incorporate educational activities and games to engage participants and inspire a new generation of landscape architects, urban planners and environmental leaders. This type of hands-on experience can have a lasting impact on how people view public spaces and the possibilities for creating more vibrant and people-friendly streetscapes.
This event is in collaboration with American Society of Landscape Architects New York Chapter (ASLA-NY), NYC Public Design Commission, NYC Planning, Uptown Grand Central, Open Plans, Civitas, Kompan, and Urban Garden Center.
We will hold virtual planning meetings in July and August and a work session in early September. We seek creative team members to help plan and work with students on the event day.
Join us on East Harlem’s Restaurant Row to engage with students, community members to kick off Climate Week! Come for an hour or all day
