Due to weather, this event has been postponed until Saturday October 5th.
Come join ASLA NY for a morning en plein air class painting blooming perennials at The Battery! This watercolor short course will be led by artist Thomas John Carlson of the Jersey City Art School.
We will convene at the Bosque Fountain and roam through the gardens, identifying our favorite plants while Thomas leads our small group through a series of watercolor exercises. All experience levels welcome, and all materials will be provided. Space is limited, sign up today!
About the Artist
Born in Minneapolis, painter Thomas John Carlson holds a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art. Residing in the New York City area for the last fifteen years, Thomas founded the Jersey City Art School in 2009 to fill the void formed by the lack of community art classes. His personal paintings ranges from mid-sized oils that combine surrealistic subject matters with impressionistic use of color and opacity, and smaller en plein air work from his travels which include residencies in St. Barths, Italy, Istanbul as well as sites in the Rocky Mountains and Vermont.
