Join the Olmsted Network on February 20, 2024, as we celebrate an important milestone in the field of landscape architecture!

2024 marks the 125th anniversary of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Established in 1899, the professional association was instituted by eleven founding members: President John Charles Olmsted, Nathan Franklin Barrett, Beatrix Farrand, Daniel W. Langton, Charles N. Lowrie, Warren H. Manning, Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., Samuel Parsons, George F. Pentcost Jr., Ossian Cole Simonds and Downing Vaux. Today, the organization has grown to serve more than 15,000 professionals and students in the field.

In Conversations with Olmsted: ASLA at 125—Exploring the Future of Landscape Architecture, a panel of experts will examine the organization’s impressive history and speculate on what the next 125 years might look like for the profession. Speakers will include John King (moderator), Torey Carter-Conneen, Kate Orff, and Thomas Woltz.
