ELA is launching a free webinar series on sustainable landscaping for professionals beginning on September 17th.

The interactive webinars will be taught by experts from across the country who are known for their expertise in specific areas of sustainability. Topics covered include a deeper look into soils, native and invasive plants, water management, designing a sustainable landscape, sustainable maintenance, organic lawn care, the “good business” of sustainable landscaping, and sustainability as a healthy landscape option.

NY Cottages & Gardens Innovation in Design Awards

NYC&G (New York Cottages & Gardens) is taking entries for its inaugural Innovation in Design Awards! The Innovation in Design Awards (IDAs) is a design competition that honors top design in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, kitchen, bath and innovative product. An exclusive panel of industry influencers will judge submissions. Winners will then be announced at an Awards Reception and Presentation on Wednesday, September 18th, at the Harvard Club in NYC!

Winning projects will also be featured in the winter issue of NYC&G. The NYC&G IDA’s benefit The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, a charity organization that provides 6-to 18-year-old boys and girls with the programs and activities that instill a sense of competence, belonging and a sense of power and influence.

Cornell University Offers Training for Landscape Architects and Students of Landscape Architecture

Cornell University will offer two short programs in landscape architecture this summer: a two-day intensive workshop to prepare students for section four of the Landscape Architects Registration Examination (LARE), and a one-day program focusing on stormwater management and green infrastructure. Both programs will be led by Michele Palmer, a lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Cornell and the ower of Templeton Landscape Architecture & Planning.
