Set in the Taconic Foothills ecoregion of Dutchess County, New York, Ledge House is a shared, year-round retreat for two New York City families and their guests. The design integrates reclaimed and locally sourced stone, native plantings, and passive microclimate strategies to minimize embodied carbon, support ecological systems, and enhance human comfort. As a result, the project serves as a model for balancing sustainability and livability while deepening connections to the local landscape.
