Advocacy

The Advocacy committee seeks to serve our chapter by raising awareness and supporting policies at the state and local level that primarily:

  1. Increase public visibility and understanding of Landscape Architecture as a profession

  2. Promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the profession of Landscape Architecture

  3. Align with ASLA National efforts: “Climate Change, Resilience and Biodiversity” and “Equity and Environmental Justice”

These goals are updated every two years through a poll which our chapter members complete.

In addition to these primary goals, we also support good stewardship of the environment, healthy communities, recognition and conservation of historic cultural heritage, greener transportation corridors, effective energy and cost-efficient landscape design, and others. We welcome input from our members, and invite you to join our meetings where you can help us advocate for our profession.

Any interested member is welcome to join our advocacy efforts. Contact our Executive Director at director@aslany.org
