Secretary - Two year term beginning October 2025
Jason Bajor
Jason has been a member of ASLA since 2004 where he started as a student member, becoming a full member in 2008. He earned his Masters’ Degree from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2004. Since 2018, Jason has been the Outdoor Products Territory Manager for Forms+Surfaces serving NYC, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland Counties.
In 2019, Jason was elected to the Board and serves as co-chair of the Communications Committee, assisting with the promotion of programming and chapter messaging through social media and web. Since 2023, Jason has also served as Secretary for the chapter, and is seeking to serve again in that role for another term.

Taewook Cha
Taewook Cha is a registered landscape architect and the founding principal of Supermass Studio, a landscape architecture practice based in New York City since 2011. As one of the few leading BIPOC landscape architects within ASLA-NY, Taewook has dedicated his career to innovating and advancing public spaces that foster equity and social capital in complex urban environments.
His recent projects at Supermass Studio include Mulberry Commons Park in Newark, NJ; the ETEC Innovation Center at the University at Albany, NY; and the Concourse Park at LaGuardia Airport’s New Terminal B in New York City.
Taewook holds an MLA from Harvard University and a BA in Horticulture from Korea University. Since 2021, he has served on the executive board of ASLA-NY and as co-chair of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. He has been instrumental in advancing its several key initiatives, including the chapter’s DEI Strategic Plan, BIPOC Professional Grants, and Student Outreach programs.
In this challenging time, Taewook reaffirms his commitment to supporting marginalized and disadvantaged communities—both within the profession and in the broader communities it serves.
Anne Chen
Anne Chen is a licensed architect and landscape architect committed to designing inclusive and community-driven environments. Her work bridges architecture and landscape, and her diverse portfolio spans educational institutions, cultural institutions, campus master plans, hospitality, and residential projects.
Anne teaches Site Planning at the New York City College of Technology (CUNY), where she encourages students to think across disciplines and understand the role of landscape in shaping the built environment. She is a 2021 graduate of the AIANY Civic Leadership Program and served as a program advisor in 2022, continuing to support civic engagement and design advocacy.
She holds an MLA from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a BS Arch with a minor in Global Sustainability from the University of Virginia.
Anne brings her cross-disciplinary experience and passion for public work to help advance the profession and champion landscape architects as leaders in creating resilient, equitable, and inspiring places.
Surabhi Jain
Surabhi is a landscape architect who recently moved to New York from Texas. She is passionate about designing public spaces that are inclusive, engaging, and meaningful—places that inspire, heal, and bring people together.
Her work focuses on equity in outdoor spaces, believing that well-designed landscapes can strengthen community ties. She also emphasizes environmental resilience, ensuring the spaces she designs are adaptable and sustainable.
Since moving to New York, Surabhi has been eager to connect with like-minded professionals. She participated in Car-Free Earth Day in April and now serves as a contributing member to both the Programs Committee and the DEI Committee.
She cares deeply about the future of the profession and wants to bring more awareness to it and help it grow. Joining the board would enable her to take a more active role and contribute to making a positive impact.
Andrew Joseph
Andrew is a landscape architect with a decade of experience. Prior to joining SWA/Balsley, he worked on a diverse range of projects, from international hospitality developments to low-income housing in his longtime home of New York City. A native New Yorker and avid urban photographer, he believes that landscape architecture is a harmonious fusion of art, science, and social responsibility. With a commitment to sustainable ecological and social practices and the creation of equitable landscapes, Andrew is committed to leaving a lasting positive impact on the world through his work.
Andrew holds a BA in Philosophy from Fordham University and a MLA from The City College of New York.
Steven T. Lee
Steven is a landscape architect and urban designer based in New York City, with a passion for crafting meaningful, equitable, and resilient public spaces. As a Design Principal at SWA/Balsley, he directs complex public realm projects domestically and abroad. His built work spans diverse contexts and includes notable projects such as Drexel Square in Philadelphia, the Ghayath Trail at Expo 2020 in Dubai, Trillium Park in Toronto, and 87 Park in Miami Beach. Steven engages closely with clients, interdisciplinary teams, and designers across experience levels to foster shared creativity and develop innovative solutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College and dual master's degrees in Landscape Architecture and City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to practice, he has contributed to design education as a lecturer at Cornell University and a guest critic at numerous universities throughout the US.
Angela Moreno-Long
Angela Moreno-Long is a Senior Project Manager in the New York City office of LaGuardia Design Group. Angela combines her background in urban studies, placemaking, and landscape architecture to bring a dynamic understanding of social and ecological contexts in the built environment.
Previously, she worked in the non-profit sector focusing on design and creative placemaking in rural America. She is passionate about fostering a robust and welcoming community of professionals in New York.
Angela holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor’s in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University.
Amy Motzny
Amy is Director of Integrated Water Management at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) where she leads sustainability, resiliency, and integrated planning initiatives for the agency. She is currently project manager for Tibbetts Brook Daylighting in the Bronx; supports planning, design, and public engagement for Green Infrastructure and Cloudburst Resiliency programs; and oversees NYC’s Water Demand Management program to promote water conservation through municipal partnerships, innovative pilot projects, and water reuse incentives.
Amy holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan and has more than 15 years of experience in water resource management across public, private, and non-profit sectors. She is currently an ASLA-NY Board Member and Co-Chair of the Education Committee. In addition to ASLA-NY, she is an Assistant Professor at the Pratt Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment where she teaches coursework in sustainable planning and green infrastructure design.
Kerri Murphy
Kerri is a landscape architect with over 14 years of experience, most recently with Hollander Design Landscape Architects in New York City. A dedicated ASLA member since 2005, she previously served in multiple leadership roles with the Potomac Chapter, including Chapter President and Events Committee Chair. She also served as president of the ASLA Student Chapter at SUNY ESF, where she earned her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.
Kerri brings a passion for public engagement, sustainability, and mentorship, with a particular interest in educating youth and emerging professionals about careers in landscape architecture. She completed AmeriCorps service with Scenic Hudson, has taught gardening seminars, and studied historic landscapes in Sicily.
If elected to the New York ASLA Executive Committee, Kerri looks forward to supporting inclusive, educational, and engaging programming that strengthens connections across the profession.
Lucila Silva-Santisteban
Lucila has 8 years of professional experience working in large local and international urban scale projects, medium scale and high-end residential mix-use projects in the landscape architecture field here in the US, and 2 years in the architecture field back in Colombia. Based in New York City she joined the ASLA in 2021 and is currently working for her licensure. As an active member of the ASLA-NY committee she contributes to the DEI committee on an ongoing basis.
Apart from her professional development, she is drawn to promote the Landscape Architecture profession through community activities specially aimed at young POC professionals in the field visualizing the existing diversity. On her free time, she co-leads the RISD Latin+(mas) alumni group.
She holds a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota-Colombia).
Michael Spina
Michael is a Senior Landscape Architect at HDR, where he leads the Nature-based Solutions Practice Group. With more than 15 years of experience in science based design and planning, he has been a NYS licensed landscape architect since 2015. He is also a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner through the Society for Ecological Restoration and an Envision Sustainability Professional through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure
He collaborates with interdisciplinary project teams to develop and implement design and planning strategies that integrate ecological thinking with public infrastructure to improve the sustainability and resiliency of our communities. His work focuses on coastal climate adaptation, ecological restoration, and green stormwater infrastructure, with an emphasis on public engagement and the conservation of native biodiversity.
Since 2021, he has co-led the ASLA-NY Plant Research Group, a professional initiative to expand and share knowledge about New York City plants, which has grown to over 90 members.
