Blair Guppy, RLA, ASLA

Blair is a registered Landscape Architecture in Canada and the US. As a sole practitioner holding licenses in British Columbia and New York, he is a strong supporter of an interdisciplinary approach to design, and a committed participant in our profession’s discussion of the public realm. For nearly two decades, he has advocated for these ideals as chair of the conference organizing and communication sub-committees, and Past-President of the BC Society of Landscape Architects, task-force member of Planners4Health and the APA NY, and as a visiting studio critic.

With unbridled curiosity and an intuition for how the world is put together Blair has contributed to award-winning built works while helping shape the growth and capacity of firms on both sides of the border. Throughout his career, he’s dedicated himself to deepening his technical and professional knowledge beyond the confines of traditional practice to better understand and more closely engage the multi-disciplinary realities of our work – the economic, societal and environmental values of placemaking.

Receiving a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of British Columbia, Blair was awarded the Robillard Scholarship and is a recipient of the Durante Kreuk Prize in Landscape Architecture for Design Excellence. A BA and undergraduate studies in Psychology and the social sciences supports a genuine interpersonal approach to practice.

Blair is a melophile, volunteer, parent, and he has a font named after him.

Elizabeth Moskalenko, RLA, ASLA, ISA Certified Arborist

Elizabeth Moskalenko is a landscape architect, arborist, and engineer whose focused work is in ecological restoration.  She views landscape architects as natural leaders that form an integral link by guiding policy with novel strategies in a rapidly changing world.  Functioning in a myriad of capacities – it is crucial that these facets are represented within and beyond our Chapter.  All voices need to be heard – empowering and motivating our charges as this is not only our profession, but our passion.

After graduating with her BSLA from Cornell in 2010, Elizabeth went on to work in Long Island and Shanghai.  The onslaught of devastating storms pulled attention back to the susceptibility of our heavily constructed and populated floodplains.  She gravitated her focus towards wetland systems and completed her Master’s in water resources engineering at Columbia to broaden her technical approach.  She integrates these perspectives into her work at Hazen and Sawyer.

Currently in her third year as programs committee co-chair and executive board member, she feels truly fortunate to lead an energized team whose concerted effort arranges over thirty programs a year.  She would be excited to expand her role and honored to serve as your next President.
